About Andy Goldsworthy
I really like Andy Goldsworthy because he seems to be inspired by nature, and
the way the world handles all the abuse we put here threw. His work also shows that
nature is not something to be messed with. I also like to see where he gets his inspiration
from, like when he saw whirlpool he observed it and built a replica of it out of wood. His
words towards “like giving a gift back to the sea”. One last thing I like about
Andy Goldsworthy is he has sympathy for all living things and animals and believes that
nature is a beautiful thing.
I like his work because it has meaning, whether or not you can see it, it does. Like
when he built the seed out of rocks on the beach it may not have meaning to you or me
but it did to him. Also he gets his inspiration from nature, which not a lot of people can
do. But don’t think his work is without struggle. He has struggled many times. Along the
way he tries and fails on a lot of things. One example of this is when he built a circle
surrounded by sticks that were held together by thorns. It was almost finished
but it fell down. And don’t forget the seed he tried for times before he got it even got
close to being finished to it. That shows me that he has struggled, but it also shows me
that he enjoys his work a lot. Personally I wood probably not have the patience to do what
he does. Lastly I like how he finds beauty in the very simple things, and he finds it in the
places that most people wouldn’t dream of.
